“Tenant had no cooling on a Friday. Latrice texted the cause and the price before she started, and I said yes from my phone.”
Heating and air repair in Memphis
Repair first, replacement last.
I'm Latrice, and this is a one-van shop. I find what's wrong for one flat fee, quoted when you book, then write the repair price down before I pick up a tool.
- The price in writing first
- A flat diagnostic
- The owner on every call

- Repair firstReplacement only when a repair stops making sense

How pricing works
How the diagnostic works, and what a repair price lists
The diagnostic is one flat fee, quoted when you book. Everything after it is priced in writing, one line at a time, so you can see where the money goes.
The diagnostic visit
Flat feeOne flat fee to find out what's wrong. The repair price comes after, in writing, and the decision is yours.
- The trip to your door
- Power, pressures and airflow tested
- The cause, in plain words
- A written repair price
- The repair, parts and labor
- A quote for a new system
Credited toward the repair when you approve it at the visit. If you say no, you owe the diagnostic fee and nothing more.
Sample repair price: no cooling
A written repair price for a unit that runs but doesn't cool. These lines are an example; yours has your own parts and labor.
- Dual-run capacitor
- Labor to replace and test it
- Test run after the repair
- The old part, if you want to see it
- Diagnostic fee, credited
The diagnostic fee is credited when you approve the repair at the visit. The written price holds for 30 days.
The repair lines are a sample. Your written price lists your own parts and labor.
What we fix
Repairs we do every week
Most calls end with one part and one visit. Here is what usually turns out to be wrong.
No cooling
Capacitors, contactors, fan motors and low refrigerant, found and priced one at a time.
No heat
Igniters, flame sensors, blower motors and heat strips on gas and electric furnaces.
Thermostats that misbehave
A dead screen, wrong wiring, or a thermostat that's reading the wrong room.
Water at the unit
Clogged condensate lines and full drain pans, cleared before they stain a ceiling.
Weak airflow
Dirty coils, tired blower motors, closed or crushed ducts.
Small rentals
One to ten units: text approval, access with the tenant, and an invoice for each unit.
Who shows up
One van, one owner, on every call
I'm Latrice Pegues. I do the testing myself, and I write the price.
Tevin helps part-time with the lifting, the ladder and the cleanup. There's no sales team to hand you to and no one working off a quota. If the answer is a small part, that's the answer.

Replacement, last
When I say replace, you'll see why
A new system is the last answer. Here is how I get there, and what you can do about it.
- 01
You see both numbers
If I think it's time, the repair price and the replacement reasons come to you side by side, in writing.
- 02
No is an answer
Say no and you owe the diagnostic fee, nothing more. The written price is yours to keep.
- 03
You can ask someone else
Take my written price to another shop. I'd rather you decide with the numbers than decide in a hurry.
Customers
What the written price did for them
“I figured the unit was done. It was a capacitor. The note said what failed and what it cost, and it was less than I'd braced for.”
“One invoice per unit made my bookkeeping simple. She told me which of my four would need replacing someday, and which not yet.”

What to know first
What does the flat diagnostic cover?
The trip, the testing and the cause in plain words, then a repair price in writing before any work starts. The fee is the same whatever turns out to be wrong, and it is credited toward the repair if you approve it at the visit.
What if I say no to the repair?
Then you owe the diagnostic fee and nothing else. You keep the written price and can use it to compare, or to decide later.
Will you try to sell me a new system?
Only when a repair stops making sense, and then you get the reasons in writing next to the repair price. There's no sales team here to hand you to. The same person who tested the unit writes the price.
Do you work on rentals?
Yes. Landlords with one to ten units are a big part of the work. I text you the cause and the price, you approve from your phone, and I arrange access with the tenant. Each unit gets its own invoice.
How soon can you come?
I book in the order calls come in, and in a hot spell I try to fit homes with no cooling in first. I can't promise a day, and I won't say I can. Calls go to my phone during the hours at the top of the page.
What if I smell gas or my carbon monoxide alarm sounds?
Get everyone out of the house and call 911 or your gas utility before anything else. Don't go back in to turn anything off. Call us after you're cleared to go home.
